It's a pretty amazing partnership these three have in putting on the Fashion Show for La Party Fantastique. The recent article in the Western News gave a great outline of the work Marissa and Jordan have done so far in preparing for the fashion show. Marissa's expertise in creating great fashion shows is well known. While being a fan of fashion for years, she cut her teeth on styling with the much-loved Vintage & Vogue fashion shows. From V&V she started at Ad Hoc as a stylist consult for over two years. While at Ad Hoc, she styled the amazing, sold-out Style Lab fundraiser for SOVAS at Poplar Grove Winery back in May 2013 and the Ladies night fashion show at the Bufflehead in November 2013.
For La Party Fantastique, Marissa is working with 20 models (male and female), who have been selected to wear clothing from Tiger Alley's eclectic collection. Almost all of them will be crowned with incredible headdresses made by Jordan. Inspired by the environment around us in the Okanagan, Jordan weaves twigs, flowers, feathers, antlers, mirrors and other found objects into her artworks. There's even a skull. The effect is arresting, and beautiful - and when the models put the headdresses on, it feels like one is in the presence of gods and goddesses.

The finishing piece will be the entire Heiress Salon team, under Brianna's direction, who will turn their expert hands to the hair and makeup on the models. The Heiress team are a powerhouse of creativity and skill. They have worked on other fashion shows, turning out spectacular results in impressively quick order. Brianna has an incredible passion for this project - donating her time and skills to create the vision and brief the hairdressing team in preparation for the show. The sheer unconventionality of the styling give a lot of room to play with the hair, and both the Brianna and the Heiress team are excited about this!
In a fitting last week, Marissa was able to work with Brianna and Jordan to start pulling the show together. It was a flurry of feathers, tulle and crazy clothing pieces - but clearly this will be a show to remember! Below are a few shots of the fun and creativity - and the cool shop!
