We've had some great parties, attended by great people.

The Penticton Social Club's sole purpose is to create wonderful experiences that build community, friendships and creativity. We continue to seek new and interesting ways of entertaining our guests.

"Look, I don't want to wax philosophic, but I will say that if you're alive you've got to flap your arms and legs, you've got to jump around a lot, for life is the very opposite of death, and therefore you must at very least think noisy and colourfully, or you're not alive."  Mel Brooks

Post-Apocalyptic Party - april 2016

Considerations for survival in a post-apocalyptic world
  • Do you know where your towel is?
  • Have you got a list of safe locations?
  • Do you have water?
  • Do you know how to make a fire?
  • Have got a paperclip, some string & duct tape?
  • You can't eat grass. Or most flowers. Or trees.
  • Here's a chance to get off the grid & eat local.
  • Twinkies still aren't food.
  • Most importantly, are you wearing all of your favourite things?
Did we mention we stockpiled alcohol and our quarantines have held the viruses, chemicals, and nasty creatures at bay?

Find a cup somewhere and bring it.
And Wear Sensible Shoes.

Wow.  Well for those of you who attended this event - thank you. You were part of a truly fantastic night, one we are sure will be talked about for a long time. The auditorium at the Library/Museum was taken forward in time to the post-apocalypse; pallets, stacks of old tires, and heaps of boxed supplies were brought to life by a swarm of energetic people who know what it means to dress for the end of times. Add great music, jubilant bartending, funky lights, fog, and some truly weird costumes to the mix and the scene was set for a great party.

But there was more. The party was host to an interactive game, designed by Keith Lim (aka Kids These Days). On an extended holiday here to visit old friends, Keith suggested the idea of a ‘Zombie Adventure’.  Party attendees found themselves immersed in a zombie fighting challenge that required them to fend off growing numbers of zombies in the darkened Museum. Get infected and you join them... make it to the antidote and you can return to the party.  It was an epic adventure.
